line What is LiNC Film?
LiNC Film aims to present the best in contemporary Scandinavian film for the benefit of the Nordic community within the region and for those from the local community in Liverpool with an interest in film and Scandinavian languages. All films are with English subtitles.

Films are usually held on the last Monday evening of each month at 7.45 pm. Visitor admission is £4.50 and Scandinavian food and refreshments are available before and after each film with proceeds benefiting LiNC. For film bookings ring Tony Slater on 0151 336 2176.

Time For Change (Tid Til Forandring)
Lotte Svendsen, Denmark, 2004 (91 mins)
A bittersweet comedy drama with ensemble cast. A fitness centre manager, presumed dead for years, offers an alcoholic psychotherapist the opportunity to join a scheme to raise money for the world's needy. A care worker with low self-esteem enters a pole-sitting competition. A repressed IT engineer tries to attract the attention of a billboard glamour model with unexpected results.

From the award winning director of Factotum and Kitchen Stories. After 40 years of dutiful service as a train engineer, 67 year old Odd Horten is forced to retire. Baltasar Kormákur, Iceland, 2008 (93 mins)
A seemingly innocuous old man is brutally killed in Iceland. His case is investigated by Detective Erlendur Sveisson whose life is plagued by various forms of addiction. Erlendur discovers that the victim was anything but an innocent pensioner, his past filled with attacks and violence. This leads Erlendur to connect the assassination to other unsolved homicides, revealing an unsettling and horrific picture that spreads virtually over the entire country.

Hearing the verdict, Bliadze attempts suicide. Ministers, media and colleagues come down hard on Jens Christian. In the midst of this crisis, a son, whose appearance he has previously denied appears from his past. Jens Christian struggles to resolve both his personal and professional lives.

After fighting the communists in Finland, Max Manus returns to Norway to join the Resistance in the fight against Nazi Germany. As the war becomes more and more brutal, many of his friends lose their lives. He ultimately realises that everybody is a victim of the meaningless of war.
